My husband was diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma. He's having a PET scan today to try and determine if it has spread to his lymph nodes. If it isn't in the lymph nodes, he can have surgery to remove his lung, which would mean a complete cure. If it is in the lymph nodes, he will undergo chemo to try and slow the growth. If the PET scan is inconclusive, he will have a lymph node biopsy next week to determine the course of action.
