I know that this idea didn't work the first time around. However, I think it might work if it were implemented in the BYLR section only. We're pretty tame there anyway. If Holy accepts this idea and if BYLR members would kinda support this, would you (mods) agree to this?

Yes it can, remember that wacky test that was done by silent J where we were able to post anonymously for about 4 minutes.

This is actually a GREAT idea. I'll implement it and see how it goes when I get a chance. May be there is still hope for the GQ forum....

IIRC, anonymous posting went really bad, really fast.
And don't think anonymous posting in a forum with very few members will do you any good

i do like to be positive, but in this case i can imagine it being abused and many members being less careful than they are now not to offend, writing one liners, inappropriate things, massive increase in sarcasm, mocking absolutely everything people say all in the name of anonymity. having a name attached to your identity makes you somewhat responsible for what you do

then again, you do want to deter ppl from having multiple screen names to hide behind

ETA: oy i am quite exhausted. i reckon you only meant for the private forum, my post was if you were to enable it across the board what would happen.

if only in the private forums (no vested interest as i don't qualify for any of them) i think it would be of great help, you might want to ask / give advice without it being attached to 'you,' whatever that refers to in this context.
