My wife and I are looking in the Gush, but I am having a tough time trying to figure out the differences between the diffurent yishuvim. Any help, spicifically regarding Efrat, Alon Shvut and Neve Daniel would be greatly appreciated. I am basically trying to figure out where we want to live, and I don't know enough about what seperates these yishuvim, ie the type of people, accessability, affordability, etc.

well what type of crowd are you looking for? since you named dati leumi (kipa sruga crowd) they are all nice places, I personally like Neve Daniel since it is close to Beitar and usually Beitar ppl will give rides to Neve Daniel ppl, also since it is a smaller community than Efrat it is more tight nite and ppl are friendlier. Efrat has become a little Upper West Side with hebrew spoken as a second or third language, as for Alon Shvut, never been there or met anyone from there so I can not help you out. Good Luck on your yishuv

Efrat is very American, but has a good quality of life, very good schools and is convenient. Since it's a bigger place the transportation is better. It's quite sprawling; the new neighbourhood (Zayit) is a way from the centre of town but is more affordable. Price is the downside, although there's a nice range available from flats to big houses. People are almost all religious but tend towards more modern; the mamad school is co-ed (forget up to which grade).

Your chances of finding a place in Alon Shvut are low--high demand and not much building.

I don't know anyone from Neve Daniel.
