No one complained when Feldheim made siddurim. Besides the Smartscroll product is clearly superior to most siddurim out there. The letters are clear, there are clear paragraphs, you don't have to flip pages, there are clear halachos (at least according to the psak of Rabbi Art Scroll) etc..
Actually, I hate Artscroll. The Hadassah font which they ripped looks nice for signs and stuff, but for extended siddur reading I like the traditional siddur fonts. That being said, better Artscroll than Birnbaum...

manuscript, v. (man, meaning hand; script, meaning written). You mean photo-offsetting the original edition. I think they were doing that on purpose for some sort of ideological reason. That being said, the new Chabad siddur is quite nice. It's a shame they skip pretty much everything.
