If you have Google Earth, go to: 32 09n 110 49w

If that doesn't get your heart racing, you must be dead. Or female.

Wow. What is this? They don't seem to be parked for easy accessibility (i.e. for hopping in one and taking off). More like long term parking.

There are two F-16's on call there each week, on rotation from Montana. They can scramble within five minutes to deal with air threats, and I have little doubt that they could make quick work of you if you tried something smart like that.

Nu, so I'll take one and you'll take one. Then there won't be any more F-16 to scramble.

Clever, huh?

The Tucson Bone Yard is officially named the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center (AMARC), Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, Arizona All of the aircraft stored there are capable of being returned to flying condition if the need ever arises. Weekly tours of the Boneyard are still given through the Tucson Air Museum, located just south of Davis Monthan AFB. The aircraft stored at the boneyard are so numerous that they are, in effect, the third largest Air Force in the world. It's the only component of the U.S. Air Force that actually makes a profit (from supplying spare parts).
