In Wonderland's mushroom, I'd dig
Split it down the middle.

Full of joie de vivre
The passion of youth
Intoxicatingly smooth
Oh! What a way to live.

You can get
the basic effect
without the bad
that's to be had
by simply choosing to take
a rich piece of chocolate cake.

Chocolate cake, while called "devil"
Is not quite all that evil
It ain't much of a win
When searching to sin
It's gantz 'shvache meises'
Compared to many other vices.

cake'll get you fat
and you'll turn into a brat
and grumble and mumble
and fumble and stumble
not worth the price
it aint really a true vice

Ought I to mind
That my thread has declined
From one of verse and insight
To one of calories and cellulite?

One ought not mind,
For when searching can find
Meanings deeper and hidden
In what others have written.

i'm pretty bad at rhyming,
it mustve been the timing,
that made me put finger to keys,
but I apologize if you please.

If it had gone the other way
It may have well made your day
But what good do you suppose
Will it do when a mod comes to close?

I'm not the right person to say this but since I'm brazen, I will. Your poetry improves in leaps and bounds. I am truly impressed.

I suggest lengthening the third line of the the second stanza for balance and maybe shaving a syllable or two off the fourth line of that stanza. In the next stanza, you have the opposite problem - the third line has too many syllables.
