I can't help it, I really like this show!
This year, one of the Geeks is a huge Trekker - he even wore a Captain's uniform! (I'm sure they all like Star Trek, but the only thing this one can talk about is Star Trek. He watches three episodes of the show daily!!!!)
The girl that got booted didn't even know what NYSE stood for!!!!!

BF, i also watched it yesterday. i thought it's a new show, did they have it before as well?
that black girl was a looser from the beginning, and her attitude was mean; i felt bad for her guy, though.
i'm far from being a geek, but i would never answer that question about "everyone hates chris" either. i'm so far from knowing about that stuff.

I think this is the third season of the show.
It's funny, b/c last year, a black girl also paired up with an Indian guy! (At least, I think he was Indian).
I can't wait till the guys get a makeover!

I hope she knew the name of the author!
Their challenge in the first episode was to read Freakonomics and then interview the author. If she didn't know the name, that'd be very sad.

The blondies this year are just that. Blondies. In episode 2 they sent to elimination the smartest girls in the house. Sherree was really good. Not half as dumb as the blondes. Makes me shudder to hear some of the airhead things that come out of their mouths. But I never learned the Dewey Decimal System...

not sure about the rest of them (frankly speaking, they all look the same to me, i differ them by their guy partners), but the blondie from the winning team
really stands out. i couldn't believe her thoughts that lead to elimination - "but they are my friends!" yes, as stupid as you are. to get rid of 2 girls who are not blondes - this girl is an epitome of (supposedly cause i don't even find her beautiful) pretty blonde stupid creature. those two brunettes showed they were smart by answering all the questions. and they were right - it did look like high school politics to me, too.

nah, then there wouldn't be that romance and the tension because of it going on.
i can't believe CC is still there and i really hope she won't be the winner (although i do like Nate a lot and i have to admit, CC can learn and concentrate when she needs to). if she wins, it'll show that bad people do prosper in life

(ok, i'm kidding, but her attitude is unbelievable and yes, i do know it's the reality show and i believe they are all told what to say and how to behave)
on another hand, if the other couple wins, it'll be as weird cause they were not the strong ones throughout the show.

he is a sweety, and so is Nick - he dealt with it so maturely, understanding and accepting that he won't win.
it's really weird that Nat's team won, cause they were so "pareve" throughout the whole competition. but anything better than CC. i really wonder if they paid CC to act that way. i'm serious.

Don't forget that he didn't watch himself on TV at that point. All he had was the memory of the first night when he felt completely awkward, and a pretty girl lavished attention on him.

I'm not saying that it doesn't take a pretty socially awkward guy to miss those cues, but it isn't as if he got to watch himself (and her) from a detached perspective. That first night, he probably felt pretty awesome, after feeling pretty dorky and lonely. All those weeks later that's what he remembered. What I'm saying is that he may well have come to realize, after seeing it on TV, that she was actually not being kind to him. On the other hand, maybe he couldn't care less but simply remembers that she was the one to reach out to him.
Elana
Feb 16 2007, 01:39 PM
i hear what you are saying and it makes sense, however if someone makes a clown out of you by painting your face (guy's face, for G-d's sake)... what if she would have asked him to walk around naked, would he still be excited she singled him out? see what i'm saying? when she was flirting with him on the bed, that i understand he felt special, but not the painting the face part.

I say nice things to people too. H.com is not all about saying and doing the right thing. We cut to the bone in an effot to expose hypocricy and inconsistency in ourselves and others. Gracefulness is not an art as much valued here and I make no apologies for sometimes ignoring it to some slight excess. This site is not real life and if it was, conversations would be as stilted and stifled as real life conversations between strangers tend to be. We do ourselves an injustice on this site if we always act on our best behavior. Although of course I am not arguing that being on our worst behavior all the time is the way to go.
