You need to be a bit more specific.

Chicagoans! Tell me what you would like me to sell!
I can't sew.
I can bake but there just opened a new sort of thing for that.
organizing groups.....
I don't mind telematketing that much but how do I get hired? Can I do that from home?
I can't teach or tutor.
I'm not qualified.
Are there big sitser programs in Chicago? I'll have to ask my motherinlaw.

We need the money!

Can you cook? I've heard of a few religious women who cook Shabbat dinners for other people; it's basically catering with the home-cooked meal vibe.
They make some good profits out of it =)

This might look a bit sketchy, but it's still worth checking it out:

Translation? Do you know any other languages?

Yes, you can telemarket from home. That looks like the only helpful option here. (bigsister programs are chessed; not a bad idea and won't help you financially.)
Some more ideas: take a course in something, art projects, writing, typing up other's writing for publication, translating, running an internet store (ask Mindy).

Debt collection sevices?

yes. some companies would be willing to give you their accounts receivables list and you try to collect their debts. make a few calls to local companiees and find out who would do it.
goodgirl
This is crazy. Every site saus that they want between 50 and 100 dollars to sign up and the you can start the job but don't worry because within the 1st day you'll make your money back.

So I hear. But if you're writing a book expecting to make money on it someday, good luck with that.

Aren't there hashgacha issues with all of these ideas for baking/cooking/meals made out of the home? I know a woman who used to do kosher wedding cakes who got out of it for that reason. I'm also looking for work that I can do out of home with the baby and I can definitely bake and am great at those fancy novelty decorated cookies (a la Cookies By Design) but I'm just wondering if people would really buy those out of someone's home without knowing anything about the kashrus status of their kitchen and not having any supervision??

when you work in the company and know the clients it cann be stressful. when youre just an outsider doing a job it's not as stressful - youre not invested in the clients.

you dont have to write abook. but writing letters for people, resumes, etc. while not big money, can be a pretty steady income. a few years ago I did this as a side job and put quite a bit of money away. I thought I would one day do this full time, but I lost my interest in it.people STILL call me for resumes - there's a real need for it in my community esp. where men are not good at English.

Why don't you try and find frum people in any of those fields and just call and see if they need someone. A lot of times they think back and forth about things and aren't looking but if you just fall into their lap... Also I you can try and find out I think Agudah has some kind of job placement program.

Thanks guys! You've all been very helpful.

food in house---we keep satmer shchita and chjalav yisrael, what could go wrong?
I would love to sell articles and stories to hamodia or mispacha or the like but i cant just fax them something and expect them to pay me for it, can i? cuz that would be great. I have a million of those kinds of things!
Rachel217
Here's an article with a ton of resources that may be of use. I especially liked chefsline for you, since you have the educational background and they don't have a Kosher expert IIRC.
