at the end of the first mishna in the 3rd perek it says that the kohen could go into the cmetery and eat the eruv(following kehati's translation and explanation)why does he eat the eruv?thanks

If you look at it in a gemara thats tos' question.. well he doesnt ask it but he 'bavornes' it --

Does Kehati say that the kohen does eat the eruv? The mishna seems to me to be saying that he could eat the eruv.

i think i know the answer - i looked it up in artscroll - the eruv has to be eatable -but if he is gonna eat it doesnt that destroy his techum?

yes it probably will destroy the eruv.. but the 'geder' for the eiruv is that it has to be edible (sorry im not holdin in eiruvin just from the quick reading..)
