OK so there is a FREE Blue Fringe concert in Cunningham Park in Queens at 7 PM on Tue, Aug 28th...

That may be a good location for a meet because several H.commers live near there, and as I can't imagine they will play for longer than an hour and a half that leaves ample time for festivities after the show (or we can leave early if it is ghey) at any of the local eating establishments/ entertainment facilities.

It is even possible to make the "after party" in Brooklyn if that would encourage more attendance as I and several other people have access to vehicles.

What do people think?? Would any non Queensers come to Queens?? Would people go somewhere in Brooklyn say 8:30- 9 ish on Tue night??

What is the source of your information?
The Blue Fringe website indicates they will be playing at the Knitting Factory on Tuesday, August 28th (at 8 PM), for cash money.
And the NYC Dept. of Parks and Recreation website does not show any activity at Cunningham Park this week.

And I saw an ad in the Non Jewish Press this week that said the same thing (does anyone still have a copy??)

Why won't you come to queens?

I checked with the Blue Fringe booking agent, and they say they won't be at the Knitting Factory until 11:00. (I guess they have other bands there at 8:00, but I'd be annoyed if I went there at 8:00 and had to wait for 3 hours to hear the band I wanted.)

Anyway, they apparently will be at the park, though it's strange that the parks & recreation website didn't mention it.

interesting band. i went to their website; the not-so-"rock-y" songs are not bad...

It depends from where in brooklyn, and on the traffic, of course. But generally, around 30 minutes?

it was the only one of 4 songs i did listen for a few seconds each that sounded too "rock-y" to me (which i didn't like) i listened on their website

yeah, commute (especially combining it with the babysitting) is not fun.

There're around 6-7 active members from Queens...I'm not sure if they want me to specify. But point being, there are queens people.

ok, either people speak up or... yeah, the meet doesn't happen. i hate those last second arrangements, not ot mention i physically can't manage one.

Here's a plan:

We go drinking in a lounge in Brooklyn, go to a hookah bar and smoke up and drink up, then hit a club and dance the night away until 2am, then crash at someone's apartment for some late hours fun.

We go to a cafe in Brooklyn (let's say Amazon), and then we go to the boardwalk to hang out and look at the ocean and the pretty lights and astroland.

i love the boardwalk idea! can we go there first? and then the hungriest among us will continue on to a cafe? or maybe it's not a good idea as people are gonna be hungry after work?
