George Bush, by whatever means, was twice elected President of the United States and has by his matured incompetence and malfeasance harmed this country much more than anything he contributed to it's well being. Whatever slings and arrows are thrown his way are well deserved.
This young lady, on the other hand, was on stage probably for the first time in her life and panicked with no evil intention, no malice toward anyone and I cringed at hearing that on the radio. People making fun of her made me feel so sad, I took it personally.
The people who find this so funny would not be so amused if it was their daughter.
I remember back to my early high school days when the teacher kept saying "There is no such thing as a dumb question." Our family never used the term diarrhea for that condition and when I asked the definition of that term in class I was ridiculed by the entire class. I stayed pretty much of a loaner in high school, I never trusted the teacher again. The only justice in any of this is that at the last class reunion more than half of them had died and I was still producing fog on a mirror held in front of my mouth.
That anyone would find great humor in her performance instead of deep down internal sorrow for her humiliation says a lot about their character. I am pleased not to know anyone personally who took delight in this innocent act of stage fright.
You're right that it is sad, but it is way sadder that you think justice was served by over half your class dying for simply finding it funny that you didn't know what diarrhea was.
