Those wanting to use avatars should

1) upload your current avatar to http://www.tinypic.com or a similar site
2) and then (on hashkafah.com) go into My Controls-->Edit Avatar settings-->Enter a URL to an online avatar image
3) paste in the URL that is given to you by tinypic.

Those avatars being hosted by hashkafah.com will be disabled soon after sukko[s,t].

It's not working. Tinypic gave me these 4 URL's and all of them give me error messages.

Seriously, people. You use computers every day. How could you not know how to find an image URL?

For those of us that are a bit slower. Where do I get my avatar to download to tinypic? Where is it now?

right click your avatar.
click properties.
that will show you your image URL.

If your image is hosted elsewhere, and you link to the image, there is no reason you need to move it to tinypic.
This only applies to avatars uploaded to the site.
If you uploaded your avatar to the site, Milton suggests using tinypic instead to host your avatar, but any URL will work as long as the image is located at that link.
If you uploaded, and want to transfer it to tinypic, and no longer have the picture on your computer, you can save the image to your computer and then upload it on tinypic.

Elana, did you "tag" the image? Try 1)uploading the picture from your computer 2)leave the tag blank and not say what it is. Without saying kitty, it probably should be fine.

Oops, D-head. I forgot to tell you one more thing. When you're pasting that link, you should also notice 2 boxes where you can put in the width and height. Type in "100" for each, and your avvie will be as good as old.

Exist: I was going to add the [cc], but the pronunciation wouldn't be affected. Good call on the [o,i] though.

Stupid and irrelevant Q, but why is hashkafa.com on a different IP than hashkafah.com? Does it make more sense to do a Redirect than to create a CNAME record for hashkafa.com to just go to hashkafah.com? Am I missing something?

No it wasn't - the dimensions were a bit off, that's all. It should've been 100x100, but it automatically makes it 120x120.

BTW, one of the advantages of http://imageshack.us is that you can chap images with URLs instead of uploading them.
There can be several reasons one would want to do this and tinypic doesn't offer this option.
