I usually wear two bracelets on each arm, do you think that's trasy? Or is too much jewelry in general trashy?
Pinchas
In a work environment probably.

I know a young intern that always wore pearls and it just seems strange... like overdressing for work.

It depends on the bracelets.

Pearls are classic and appropriate for work.

It depends on the bracelets, but unless they're incredibly thin and not very flashy, I think it's too much. I think tasteful is a watch or one bracelet on one wrist, where it is an accent and not the main attraction...

No question about that. In fact she was dressed very well for work. But I was a little surprised since she dressed like a vice president and she was only a 17 year old bat-sharut intern. Most interns here can get away with wearing t-shirts even. But if dilbert is right it won't be long before she is a VP. He claims well dressed people get promoted faster. You definitely want to look more elegant.

Stick to one bracelet on one arm. Simple and subtle is elegant and beautiful.

it really depends on a strand of pearls. i have very small pearls (two strands interwined) that i wear to work sometimes. it looks very elegant and appropriate for the office, if i may say so myself

Here I go....with a watch and bracelet that matches it on my left arm, and a small gemstone bracelet and a thin bangle on my right.

Say HI if you see me.

You should have said one of them is a bangle to begin with. I think they have different halachos than normal bracelets.

I love that film..

Anyway i have been wearing lately 2 very thin matching bracelets on one arm and one very this charm bracelet on another and no complaints...

A lot of jewelery on both arms is a bit too much, IMO.
A few bracelets on one arm can look quite pretty, though. smile.gif

Remember the old rule to dress for the position you want not the position you have. Take a look at those higher up the ladder. Is their jewelery unstated or wow? Both looks can have their place in office environments. For example, I find sales people tend to be wow, as do most people who do a lot of face to face client work, but those who maintain the fort (so to speak) tend to go understated regaurdless of how much money they make.

Also, the number of pieces does not matter as much as the overall look. So one tiny bracelet might look a lot more silly on a tall woman than 7-8 small bracelets up her arm.

Happy, I'm a secretry. Plain and simple. I work with men in suits. I'm not going anywhre, nor do I have anyone to emulate or impress.

Those magazines that say that, have no idea how many ppl actually work in retail or as support staff, with no thoughts of moving up or out.

Oh, in that case you could wear loads of jewelry.

If it's thin bangles, you can wear two. Otherwise, you can also wear two smile.gif (I wouldn't though).

laugh.gif I thought it was funny that she wore pearls to a school like that, I thought for sure she was gonna get attacked.

That being said, I wear a silver bracelet with three silver ball thingies on it on the same hand as my watch because I can't stand having anything on the hand that I write with. That being said, I haven't really written anything in a long time, so maybe I should switch the bracelet....thinking2.gif
I don't like when people wear too much jewelry. I wear one right on my right hand that my friend's sister gave me last year, earrings all the time (or most of the time when I remember) no necklace (only because my necklace broke bigcry.gif and the only other one that I have is very...eccentric so I only wear it when I'm in a weird mood) but when I do have a necklace, I wear only one, and that's it. I don't like a lot of jewelry, it looks like you're trying to show off all your jewelry. Subtle stunning stuff is much better IMHO.

like what? Personally, I don't like the whole thing with the big bulky necklaces and what not. Not my type of thing.

ETA: Oh, I forgot...when I took my niece to Kever Rachel, we got red strings, so I have that on my watch/bracelet wrist too.
existwhere?
C&H: about those red strings, I thought they only came from kever Rochel?
calvinandhobbes
These happened to be from there (edited) but they have them everywhere, kotel, etc.
