Los Angeles has some rather "rough" neighborhoods and while driving south of LA I had the opportunity to pick up a local newspaper. There was a large ad for Auto Body Repair that said the shop specialized in the repair of bullet holes, "Halloween Special 12 bullet holes fixed for $699."
Poverty is rampant and there was an ad for "Do it Yourself Funerals." The October special was no milage charge on hearse rentals and used caskets were available at half price, "Used only to hold the body until cremation, perfectly suitable for permanent burial." New caskets were available for "$499, some assembly required, hardware additional."
The plastic surgeon was not left out of the the adverts, he had a 36 month payment plan on "booty" reduction surgery.
