Do you own a pair?
What do you think of them?
krumlikeapretzel
1. Yes
2. I'd wear them more if they weren't so hard to put on and (especially) take off. That said I like them.
Kalashnikover_Rebbe
Feh!
Elana
1. no
2. they look ugly, but give me few more years, and i'll get used to their look.

why are they hard ot put on/take off?

they were accurately named for looks.
If they're comfortable, maybe I'll try them.

Indeed. They're hideous. Especiously since I see that many people who wear Uggs don't know how to wear them properly, i.e., they wear them when it's 75 degrees outside and/or with mini-skirts.

Here's my take on uggs:
1. They're SO warm and comfortable
2. But at the same time, they're not the best looking boots around. That being said, they can "grow on you."
I used to think they were terribly ugly, but now I've gotten used to the way they look.
3. I don't own a pair. $250-$300 is a lot for boots that I'm not obsessed with.
4. All of that being said, many girls pull them off. Especially the tight-fitted uggs with the zipper; those can look cute with a knee length skirt.
Also, many girls (especially city gals) look stylish with the uggs with leggings/pants look. But, oh well.

IMHO they make good-looking people look better, and not-as-good-looking people look worse.
greentiger
They look like space shoes. I'm wondering what's taking them so long to go outta fashion.
Cassandra
I don't currently own a pair, but I'm seriously considering getting one (yes, the super ugly tan ones) because they are warm and I'm generally speaking very cold. Also, I have a hard time finding shoes (and regular boots) and it takes one rain or snow storm to kill them and I get to spend the rest of the winter with wet feet. So despite the fact that I think they are rather ugly, the look has grown on me and I may get them for convenience sake.

Do you really think they make good looking people look better? How so?

I got leather boots from Aldo 4 winters ago, and they're still in pretty good condition (except for the small part that needs to be patched and lets the rain water in).

What do you want, a scientific explanation??

When I bought them I never imagined they'd still be in style now. I like them because I consider them a quirky fad.

I'm surprised nobody else here likes them... I agree that people who wear them with pants look awful, but I think they look nice/quirky with a skirt.
Penina
I have them and I adore them, though I don't buy the name brand but I am makpid to only buy real sheepskin or else you're just buying fleece shoes. Uggs with leggings tucked in are dreamy in the winter. For all of you non-believers, do you wear snow boots or rain boots? Do you just wear flats with your skirts all year round, come rain or shine? Uggs are just glorified cold weather boots!
bigtoe
Admit it.
People only 'like' Uggs because they're in style.

That said, I think their baby booties are adorable.

Just ordered my second pair today. I got the first too big (I was unaware that you are supposed to buy a size down) and I tried some of the imitations but I don't like the lengths so I'm stuck with the real deal.
Aviva
I do. I'd own more if I could afford it. I love them. This is my third year with them, and they're still in great condition.

I have uggs moccasins in Winter White, and I love them. I found them at an outlet mall for $55.

I also bought the classic uggs ca. 2000, just before they became very popular, and I still wear them. They are warm, waterproofed, and look just fine with most types of skirts.

Mine were close to $200. Must say tough, the best $200 I've ever spent. smile.gif

Would someone please explain to me why it's ever worth spending more than $120 on a pair of boots?

Normally, I'd agree, but that was before my Uggs. That being said, it was a one time thing.
brianna
What happens next year when a different brand is in?
Aviva
This is my third year with them, and when these are all worn down and I can't wear them anymore, I'll get another pair, but much less expensive. I don't buy what's "in," I buy what I like/want/are comfortable.

Where, pray tell, can you find a decent pair of winter boots for less than that?? I don' think I'd ever buy uggs. I look like an ugg without it. unsure.gif

Come on, even I admit that a good pair of boots is likely to cost that much...

Sure, I'm looking into a nice pair of leather boots for $130. I'll wear them until they fall apart; I don't care about fashion.
