Is there anywhere I can get a checking account, even though I am not eighteen?
A joint account is probably not a choice.
Also, why am I allowed to take out thousands of dollars in student loans, but not get a stupid bank account in at least several banks???

ETA you might be able to pull it off if you get declared an "emancipated minor" but there are probably drawbacks to that too....

They gave you student loans without a cosigner??? Where do I sign up for these???
Can't your parent and guardian have a tax-free account under theirs for you? (i've forgotten the term for it)

Not my papers. And it'll take years with the way things go in this country.
According to my bank correspondence this week (i've had trouble depositing checks for my kids in my account), a minor can get a checking account at 15.
