I've been wearing the same raincoat for about the last 8 years* and I really need a new one. Any ideas? Good places to shop, styles to consider, etc.
*when it rains, I mean.

London Fog has a nice selection and are very good quality at an affordable price.

What do you wear when it rains? Or when the weather is changing and it's too warm for a winter coat and too cold for regular clothing?

Don't you know that raincoats are totally passe? Like, nobody wears them anymore. If they did, how could anyone see that they were wearing the regulation black top, black skirt and nude stockings?

Jacket or sweatshirt.
In my neighborhood people throw "raincoats" over model coats to go shopping on the avenue on an average non-rainy day.. Hence the shudder.

See why we need the fashion and style forum to be public? How else would I know of my repeated violations of fashion etiquette?

There are a few coat places in Borough Park that probably sell raincoats too, though I'd call first to make sure.

Not Boro Park. Please not Boro Park.

Precisely. Everyone needs to fall in lockstep with what everyone else is doing.
I have had my raincoat for more than 10 years and I'm not giving it up for anything.

I'd probably keep mine too, except that it's missing most of the buttons.

Then why not just go to a notions store and buy a new set? Something pretty that will give the coat a whole new look?

That's an idea. Finding the right buttons and sewing them on might be a bigger hassle than getting a new coat, though.

See, thats potentially two different things. Rain coat= rubbery rain coat for when its pouring. Then you are also talking about times you'd want to wear a "fall jacket" of some sort, or a trench coat.
