FYI
Does anyone have an easy recipe for pb bars?

The type that has no baking for bottom layer and just shmear melted choc. chips on top of it?

I know it's basically pb, confectionary sugar, but don't know what else or any amounts?

Thank you,
From FYI, a fan of pb

I'd try a more traditional version. What's powdered milk and where do you get it?

It's not cholov yisroel. And it's milchigs. Most people don't want their cakes to be milchigs.

THe kind in my house comes from the store and is chalav yisrael.

I forgot about the milchigs issue. Note however, no baking/heating required.

I made a traditional version. They were a bit crumbly but still yum.

My issue is it always calls for about half the necessary chocolate.

Ing were 1/2 c. margarine, 1-1/2 c. pb, 1-1/2 c. brown sugar and 2 c. powdered sugar, and 1 cup choc chips, melted.
I think that was it, but I may have forgotten something. YOu split half of marg for bottm and half in choc while melting.

Nothing wrong with milchig treats, except you can't have them if you're fleishig. Many people buy (milchig) cheesecake for Shabbos morning breakfast, for example.

From my wife:

1 stick margarine

2 cups peanut butter

Melt together in microwave around 1 minute-1 ½ minutes

Add:

3 ½ cups confectionary sugar (1 lb)

3 cups rice krispies

Mix well, put into pan and put in fridge for a while

Melt:

1 ½ cups chocolate chips

3 Tablespoons margarine

Mix and pour on top and put in fridge for while, then cut into squares. Cut when not very hard and not too soft.
