"Burlington" in Manhattan (23th St. & 6th Ave. - a stop on the F train) carries a tremendous variety of coats at very good prices. You can call them and ask if they have it.
I was there the other day...they didn't even carry the style (only long wool and puffy coats, or trenchcoats).

or check out their website to get an idea.
SHuli, if you wait till after christmas/new year, you'll be able to get a real one for a fraction of that cost

(probably at macy's - we bought my mother a full length beautiful leather coat for cheap like that)
But I'm cold now.

I also checked Macy's, JC Penney, Nordstrom, Loehmann.
Land's End for fun even though I don't think they have a retail store. Theirs was only $1800.
Went to Macy's, Nordstrom's, and Loehmann's. (Also Filene's.)

Shuli, what about a large dept stores where they don’t only have a few trendy items? I just went to Macy’s and Lord & Taylor and I only go a fw times a year, I would have looked for you.
I can check out Century 21 for you next week.
I tried Century 21, but if you're going anyways, keep your eyes peeled.

Has anyone tried those small leather-and-fur-coats-only shops that they have midtown-ish?
