Do you know where two females can board for a week or two in January?
smile
Anyone?!
grend123
What city?
What price range?

The obvious answer is a hotel. If you are willing to forgo amenities for a cheaper price, you can go to a youth hostel, which will be pretty inexpensive.

Or are you looking to stay in someone's home?

Jerusalem or nearby is fine.

Besides for a hotel or hostel, where else can I stay?

I totally don't mind staying in someone's house.

The Chabad Women's Center in Nachlaot keeps advertising..

A place to settle in comfortably while in Jerusalem, for women only. Whether on vacation, a pilot trip, on a first stop of a longer journey, or simply a seminary student wanting to spend a shabbos in Jerusalem, then the Center is meant especially for you.

It is much more than a hostel and not quite a hotel, more like a "home away from home". It is a four bedroom penthouse, with a gorgeous terrace and view. It is in the heart of Nachlaot opposite the shuk and an easy walk to the Old City and many many more Jerusalem attractions. 4 bedroom penthouse in the heart of Nachlaot available by the night, week or month.

For reservations contact chaya770@netvision.net.il or call 972-505-436492 or the Center at 972-2-6242577.
In Israel: 0505-436492 or the Center 624-2577

heritage house?

Not gonna work if you're orthodox.
bigtoe
oh and there's also something called 'The Bais Yaakov Apartments' or s/t along those lines. They're located in Ramat Eshkol and advertise in the Pirsumit every week iirc.

They don't let frum people stay there.....
Kalashnikover_Rebbe
I just remembered sometimes people stay at the "Sefardic Center" in the Old City. I have no idea what their deal is or how much they charge but it might be an option....

But the best thing to do is have someone on "the inside" look around for posted notices. That still seems to be the main form of communication. I would do it but I am not often in J'lem...

Basically. Although many non or not so frum people wear a kippa so that is not necessarily a dealbreaker.
If they know you are frum and kal v'chomer if you have been to yeshiva/sem they won't let you stay there. If you are a new BT they usually will at least for awhile.

They are for kiruv purposes not hachnossos orchim.....

Yeah, they are only for important mitzvos.

The male HH vs. female HH works bit diff. so you have to call and ask. I think they do a mini-interview type of thing to see where you're holding. Though like Kreb said, they're not there just to be a guest house.

Other than that the woman/couple that run the women's one is very sweet. It's not her rules.
Natanel
Well i'm a chameleon able to melt into my surroundings, the eternal BT.

"Ekscuse meeee, when do we do that thing where we get to dance around and sing. Wow, everybody's so nice here! it's just a little hot for me"

If you can get ahold of anyone that gets the Pirsumit, it's in there. If not, I can tell you next week.

Do any fellow H.comers have any more ideas...? Do you know anyone who would have room..?

Thanks!

Smile the craziest thing just happened. I passed by the garbage (which happened to have been very full) and heard something fall out. I turned around and it was a page I had ripped out of a publication. As I put it back, I glanced on the back and saw the ad for the apartments I was talking about the other day..weird!)

Anyway, it's called Beis Yaakov Graduates Apartment 0527-629-764
