FYI
There's this recipe that has boiled potatoes/hard boiled eggs/cheese. Somehow it's layered andthere's probably some spices or something else in there, anyone know what it's called?

I've found a recipe for it online before but can't search for it because I forgot the name.

What kind of cheese?

Is this a kind of salad, or is it a stew?

Hm.. maybe it's not cheese. Maybe sour cream. I think it's like a casserole or dish or something?

Rakott Krumpli Hungarian Layered Casserôle?
Belle
Yep, sounds like RakottKrumpli.

And I have no clue how to spell that.

Speaking of weird-sounding dishes, anyone heard of something called "Gizzabekerai"? I think it's a kind of cake.

Yeh! I think that's it. How do I make it? Does it taste good?

I've never made it. I honestly think you just layer potatoes (raw or baked, no clue) with sour cream, some cheese, and sliced hardboiled eggs. Then bake it.

I know, not very helpful. But, it doesn't sound like the type of food you need an exact recipe for.

Sounds like good old Soviet Salad # 83.

Yes, it's Rokat, or whatever.

There are a few ways to do it, but the real way I think is
Slice cooked potatoes, layer the bottom of pan. Slice hard boiled eggs, layer. Sprinkle salt and whichever spices you prefer. Layer with american cheese (I'm sure they used a different cheese). Repeat.

The best potatoes for this is red, and don't peel it before cooking. Peel it once it's cooked.

Add garlic and use cheddar.
Awesome!
My mom makes it with salami instead of the cheese.

Well I did this wrong, then, but it looks good.

oy yoyy...I think I messed up.

I think the recipe wanted me to use as 2*2 pan because I could barely make it into one layer. The sauce was mainly sour cream and some spices. Barely enough eggs to cover potatoes, but it looks good - Tonight I plan to eat it and will iy"h give an update tomorrow. I should probably make the same thing with cheddar cheese as cheddar cheese is one of my favorite foods.
