I don't know much about jk, what do you hate about her?
I don't 'hate' her, but I think a certain element of, for lack of a better word, greed, entered her writing around the 4th book- which was basically around when the movies started being filmed. Aside from the series going in a different direction at that point (compare the first 3 books to the last 4), it seemed that she was almost writing with a transfer to film in mind- like what would look good.
Also, and this is an opinion formed from reading many interviews, I really don't agree with her view on some of her characters. Ok, she wrote them- but once they're out there, then I can interpret them as I see them, and I do not need to rely on her view. For example, the character of Harry Potter. She loves him, he's the embodiment of many praiseworthy qualities, etc. I don't agree. I happen to think as a character, he's a self-absorbed, reckless, messed up kid- he spent his first 11 years being physically and emotionally abused, living in a cupboard. This is not a normal person here.
The world she created is incredibly engaging, and there are scenarios and attitudes towards various things she barely touched upon in her works. (which is why good fanfic is so very, very good). I respect that, but it's a little hard to respect someone who swears up and down and sideways there will only be 7 HP books, and she'll never write about him again, and now they're backtracking. I love the world, enjoyed the books at the time, hate the canon relationships in the book, and dislike many of the characters. I think she should leave well enough alone.
