What's up with the wacko discussions lately?

Newbies! I don't think newbies should be able to post new threads until they've proven themselves after a certain time period or number of posts.

Yes, I agree. This board needs to enact policies to make it more insular than it already is.

I knew you would You think that people sometimes come to h.com needing urgent advice and can't wait a month to do it. So maybe they should be able to post one new thread a day, not ten inappropriate ones within the span of ten minutes.

Obviously this isn't going to happen. And I was never from the anti-newbie group. But you've got to admit, something has gotten out of hand in the past few days.

I agree. I never thought twice about the newbies earlier. Recently there seem to be odd ones appearing, troll or not. If that won't stop, then there should be some sort of system to weed them/their abysmal first topics, out.

Although to be perfectly honest, I couldn't give a hoot... It's just my opinion...

So what is it? H.com should be a fair playing field for everyone, and who am I to judge what's appropriate and what's not, and it's all a matter of opinion?


Of course it isn't. There isn't a silver bullet. There will always be people who I think are idiots, and making rules and regulations to shut them out will never be effective. You just have to learn to deal with it and move on.

n00bz aren't the problem as long as they come in small numbers. Yes they are an annoyance and can be tiresome, but they can also be a lot of fun (present company excepted)...
