Yes, but online version have different utilities. For example, perhaps someone needs to copy and paste a quote and for that one would need an online version if one doesn't want to sit and type in something that has already been done.
Secondly, I'm not sure what's so terrible about asking for a link. Lots of us has asked for links for things or for information when a simple Google search would have revealed the requested information. Is asking for a link any different than Lauren and Nechama Dina standing in the beit midrash, with Nechama Dina standing closer to the bookshelf and Lauren asking a favor of Nechama Dina to please pass her a sefer when Lauren could just as easily gone around and taken the sefer herself off the bookshelf?
In addition, online sforim are good for when you need just a few sentences. But for actual learning, hard copies are invaluable and not replacable.
Depends for what. There's nothing wrong, per se, for asking for a link. However Tanach is really basic and a simple Google search would have been easier. Why would Lauren ask Nechama Dina to pass the sefer if Lauren is closer or as close as ND to it?
[That said I am as guilty of asking for easy links when I knew of the JSN thread.]
