This is so frustrating. I have the vast majority of my CD's ripped onto my computer. Some get the track names from the Internet. The other track names I have to name manually. Sometimes this works right. Other times, when I play the tracks, Windows Media Player seems to be unaware that I have edited the track names and refers to them as Track 1, Track 2, etc.

Also the whole "Library" in Media Player is so confusing, the album names and track names do NOT match up with what I see when I go through the file folders containing my media files in a regular Explorer window.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH MICROSOFT??? IT'S DRIVING ME NUTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

Thank you.

WMP has a very complicated algorithm when it comes to naming and storing files, they keep saying that it will be the easiest and most user friendly program...but they are falling short.

I strongly Recommend you switch to WinAmp.

Also, When renaming files, Try to do it in Windows Explorer. Right Click on the file and edit the properties.
