Secret service is wonderful if a lone gunman shows up with a .22 and one of them "takes a bullet" for the president (and covers up the scratch later with a band-aid) but when it comes down to it, quite useless in the face of a RPG or rocket attack.

My understanding is that he's not going to Gaza, but if he did, he would be safe. Even the people there won't risk annihaltion to prove a point, and shooting Bush would mean just that. Then again, maybe that's why he isn't going there.

Nope. Given his fundamentalist Christian beliefs I'd guess he fullheartedly believes that G-d gave the land to the Jews, thousands of years ago, and then took it away from them in the 1st century.
