Do you find it odd for a woman who wears a wig to suddenly sport a new look? Not just slightly shorter or longer. I mean going from mid-back length to sharp chopped up bob, brown to blond, etc?
I've started seeing women go back and forth from one look to another. You need to really do a double take to make sure it's the same person.
Would you do it? Would you want your wife to do it? Is it totally weird?

I don't think it's much more weird than people who suddenly and dramatically change their natural hair colors and styles.

We had a teacher who wore a light blonde sheitel and then one day came to school in a dark brown sheitel. It was.....weird.

The problem is going back and forth. If you want to do a dramatic difference in look, okay. I probably wouldn't do it, but I can hear it. But flipping back and forth is weird, in my opinion.

Exactly.
It once took me two weeks to recognize a classmate from a previous semester because her once-blonde hair was dyed red. (And then it took me another eight or ten to remember her name.)

Guess I'm weird, because I see the flexibility in styles and colors to be one of the best things about shaitel-wearing. I was really unhappy to have gotten two shaitelach that were nearly the same color and style and eventually had one recut into a different length and style, but if I had the disposable income, I'd have three or four shaitelach in completely different colors, styles, and lengths and alternate them daily based on mood, wardrobe and occasion. I guess it satisfies the inner 6 year old in me who still wants to play dress-up, and the rebellious streak that defies the frum-is-conformity mentality.
