It seems to me it's ok to remove fruit from the roof if it's raining and to lower the fruit inside, but it's problematic to raise the fruit through a window unless the window is low.
What about in NY where you have those stores with basements with the access from stairs leading to the sidewalk. If there's a flood, can you lift the fruit up through the opening in the sidewalk?
