I love corndogs and it's definitely a good idea to have some variety in the shabbos meals. That said I don't consider corndogs to be a classy food by any stretch of the imagination, but you don't always need to be classy to enjoy yourself.

I know a yeshivishe family who does this for a shabbos side...they're always gone after the first pass around the table. Personally, I love them and I think it's a great (and relatively inexpensive) side.
