Okay, I'm suffering from an overabundance of sliced american and various emek cheeses. I don't want to freeze the majority of it because it would be helpful on my grocery budget to incorporate it. I am sick of tuna melts, grilled cheeses, and any version of lukshen with cheese. Ideas?

I forgot, eggs in scrambled or omelette form make me nauseous. Good idea though. However, I'm pretty sure that cheesecake would taste a little.........unique.........if made with slices of American.

Cheesecakes are typically made from soft, spreadable cheeses that lend themselves well to being sweetened. Most cheesecakes (and blintz fillings) are made from cream cheese, farmer's cheese, or ricotta cheese (the final products' taste and texture varying slightly based on the cheese one chooses). Sliced and hard cheeses lend themselves primarily to savory dishes.

Shuli, can your kid eat the stuff? If so, it's a great snack food.

I don't really see the problem. I have a hard time NOT incorporating cheese into nearly every single dairy meal.

I just discovered it. I was at my parent's house and they kept offering it to me (the first time I was fleishigs) so then when I finally tried it, they mentioned how it was $1 at the store. (no wonder they wanted to offer it to me to taste)
It was decent, nothing special, but not bad.

Cheddar cheese is still my favorite :dreamy:
