Thanks for replying. I did see something about a pizza place but was looking for something a little nicer.

the pizza place is it unfortunately...

It's not far to the 5T though (just over the Atlantic Beach Bridge).

Hmm. How far is not far? I won't be alone and don't want to make anyone go out of their way just so I can get kosher food.

(Thanks for replying.)

Depending on traffic, maybe 15-20 mins? This time of year it should be easy. You drive straight down Beech St through Atlantic Beach, follow the sign for the bridge, and then you're practically right on Central Ave.

(Keep in mind that it takes 15 minutes to get anywhere on Long Island!)

Let me expand this topic.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good-for-a-midday-meal relatively inexpensive restaurant within the Five Towns area?

Not interested in sushi or dessert. I'm looking for lunch.

Has anyone heard of King David's Deli on Central Avenue? (Cedarhurst or Lawrence, I think, I forgot.)

That's good enough for me. Thanks.

One of the people I'll be with specifically requested a deli.

No personal experience, sorry. I do understand that it has recently (in the last few months) become glatt kosher and shomer shabbos.

It should be fine-- it changed ownership a few months back. Another option is Traditions-- you're probably not interested in Subway or Burgers Bar, are you?

Aren't Subway and Burgers Bar in Brooklyn?

Anyway, thanks everyone for your replies. I went to Maxx's and the food was great.

They are also located on Central Avenue in Cedarhurst, right next to each other.
