I've been with friends lots of times who did the hold-the-quarter-in-the-meter-until-it-breaks-trick, but I dont think I've ever actually done it myself.

I have never done the above (and never even knew it could be done) but my general issue isn't the quarter, it's the fact that I don't always have quarters on me at the time I need to park.

Unless it's accompanied with a brokerage statement ...It's not about 25 cents, it's about walking to the meter every hour or so.
