Why do some performers use cordless mikes and others use corded mikes? I would think the wave of the future is using cordless or body mikes, but I still see the corded ones being used so I'm wondering if it's part of the effect.

I'd guess many are still with corded because of interference and/or bad battery-life.

Yeah, I thought so. That was included in "body mikes." They need it because they do a lot of jumping around the stage.

1) Actual cordless mics are more expensive than comparable corded mics.
2) It's easier to lose a mic that's not attached to anything.

That said, it is very easy to convert any plain old corded mic to a wireless - just disconnect the wire and voila.
