It seems to me this is one of the major areas in which chol hamoed really impacts many families, other than having to wear one's shabbat finery, with the addition of oodles of makeup, to Six Flags. The other areas, like working, or writing, or shopping, seem to be easier for many to get out of.

Why can't a person transport keilim from an artisan to his home on chol hamoed? There are no muktzeh issues, so what's the big deal?
FYI

What does this have to do with laundering?

I don't know. It's in the same siman since both have to do with work you can't do on CHM.

Ok, so then for my response.

I never used to mind the no-laundering, but now that we usually are packing for 5 ppl for over a week and only have so many shabbos clothes and try to pack light, it's gotten to be a bit of a strain, but I was told that I can intend to wash kids clothes, so I pack as little as possible and just do laundry once or twice while away. While growing up, I only remember it being an issue if there were a lot of people in our house for Pesach, then it came down to being low on towels, but with everything else we managed. However, my m-i-l practically goes insane being unable to do laundry.

Now, onto the artisan - does that mean I can't pick up my piece of artwork that the artist finished erev yom tov? or does that mean I can't pick up my laundry from the dry cleaners that I forgot to do on erev pesach because I was too busy with biur chametz and last minute preparations?

I think I remember that you cannot pick up your laundry on CHM even if you brought it in before YT.
Can anyone confirm or contradict that?
