1. if you are dry cleaning, make sure you take the shirts out of the plastic right away
2. if you are washing them at home, use a non-chlorinated softener and a non-chlorinated bleach

They do sell for cotton. It's imported from England, light purple box.

Are you referring to collars or the whole garment?

Use a spray/gel like OxyClean (or somethign with oxygen-- it's been proven to help lift off stains better than standard stain removers) every time you wash the garment, on specific areas in particular. Too much bleach weakens the fabric.

They sell super-white tablets in Israel, right next to the tallis ones k-rebbe talked abt (as I mentioned earlier, they're from England, so no idea if they're available in US) for about 20 NIS ($5) for 6 tablets.
Looks like this:

I would assume something like Rit® White-Wash® would be comparable and is easily found in craft-stores as well as online merchants like Amazon (I wouldn't know where in specific as I haven't used this product in specific. I have used their dyes and they work well).

Thank you.

just FYI, yellowing is often caused by chlorine bleach, so if you think you're going to whiten your whites by using bleach, you're only making it worse. Oxy clean can improve this or other non chlorinated bleaches, as has been suggested.

I was under the impression that yellowing or other discoloration of clothes is usually due to rust in the pipes or tub of the washing machine.
