He washes them whenever I tell him it's time to wash my son's. Then he'll wash his. I don't think he's ever cleaned his tallis . Kittel usually once between pesach/r'h, but isn't that only worn about 4 times a year.

It's basically a mold, to re-establish the shape of the hat. Usually done in conjunction with cleaning the hat.

often it depends (sometimes he'll initiate it if he's exercised a lot and his extra pair is super-ready to be washed.) I would say once every two months (my best guess, but could be off). I usually make my son switch his pair (he has a few) if I witness them fall in the toilet or some other similar thing that grosses me out.

What type of hat are you referring to here? I've seen such a thing for a baseball cap that you put on and then stick in washing machine, but are you talking about a black hat?

Usually I don't, because the tzitzis get filthy/passuled before it needs to be washed (I wear undershirts and wool tzitzis)


Never, but I send in my Shabbos hat a few times a year when the hair gets matted....
My Borsalino I just brush when it gets dirty and if I HAPPEN to be passing by the hat store they steam it for free....
