I heard that it was closed while the snow fell, but it was being re-opened after the snowfall. I wanna go tobogganing!! I haven't gone since we moved from our old house with the hills in the backyard.

There are no shortage of hills in Israel.

'Tis true. I would actually much prefer snowtubing. Back in the day when I was in HS, they used to take us once a year.

Whats next, sledding? Skiing? Good old slipping on the ice and falling on your... rump?

sledding is tobogganing. I don't know how to ski. Ice skating would be nice, but my skates are at home, and I don't like rental skates, they aren't sharp enough. I know how to walk on ice, thankyouverymuch. I'm Canadian, I grew up with that kind of stuff all over the place.

Why is it, that all Canadians have the same attitude? That they're the only ones who ever experienced a real winter?

I dunno, but this wasn't a snowstorm. But you do get used to walking everywhere on ice...school, to the car, to the mailbox...you get better at with time.

NY doesn't get the same amount of snow as, say, Toronto or Montreal. But yes, they do get snow. I was even there during that huge snowstorm in which NYC shut down...and my brother was getting married 2 days later.

Yes, well. That's why I don't live there anymore. The amount of times that my parents have told me that it snowed a ton there make me quite content to live here...until it snows here and it turns into a national holiday.

Hey, I've gotten some good stuff on sale on Boxing Day. But I will not leave my bed at 6 int the morning to stand in line outside a store.

Yes actually. That's why some of us would like to get up there. If they had ice I'd vote for skating too. But snowboarding'll do for now (actually, why not have a meet in the Canada Center in Metulla? Only olympic-sized rink in Israel..have your skates sent calvin)

Sure, but they'll get here Pesach time. And truth is, I doubt my parents would be so willing to bring them. I guess I'll rent. How much is it, anyways? I'm totally in!!!!

I don't know about Metulla, but in Tel Aviv it's 50 ₪ and rink is an okay size from what I see (I had someone take pics, will post soon). The skates (hockey looks a bit rusty which means they prob. aren't sharpened or taken care of well enough sad.gif ..but how can one complain when there's only a handful of rinks on the whole country!) look like this:

Those look like HORRIBLE skates!! The one that the person is wearing are so rusted that you can see it clearly in the picture. That's not easy to skate on. Totally not worth 50 shek, which is a shame, cuz I would love to go skating.

Nothing goes to Metulla??

Looks like 2-3 modes of transport.. 963 from tachana merkazit to Kiryat Shmona, then scrounge around for the 20 or 21 to Metulla. I'll try and call in the AM to find out..Sometimes a group of people try to get together and hire a sherut..gawd I miss skating..
