Sunday: Gail my trainer comes and we do an hour on the treadmill, walking, jogging (a bit, I have arthritic knees and can't do too much) and uphill walking. Once I have recovered from that, I go walking outside if it's nice, do my shopping on foot etc. Do more treadmill later in the day by myself.
Monday: Gail my trainer comes and we do 15 mns or so treadmill then the rest of the hour weights and resistance work. I have 2 Russian Kettlebells, one 20kg and one 12kg and we work out with those. Gail brings one of 4 kgs, and resistance bands and occasionally bar weights.
Tuesday and Wednesday: I walk outside and on the treadmill by myself.
Thursday Gail comes and we do a similar workout to Monday.
Friday I walk outside by myself doing Shabbos shopping. If Ihave time I go on the treadmill.
Shabbos: I walk with hubby after each meal, at least half an hour unless Mincha is really early on shabbos day.
Motzai Shabbos: i walk on the treadmill.
NB Occasionally I get together with a friend and we'll go on a long walk, more than an hour and a half.

For some people (like me) that is their main struggle with their Yetzer Hora. If I actually manage to get up in the morning for the most part the rest of my day is on track. But if I don't, forget about it...

Not really. I am always up. I am paying her to devise an exercise routine I would never do alone, (I never do weights unless she is there) varied and challenging, and to make me spend longer and harder on the treadmill than I would do by myself.

It's good to work with a trainer, because then you have someone to push you and make sure you work as hard as you're capable of. It's also important to utilize good technique and put together a good routine, which many people aren't capable of doing themselves.

Thanks BF. Also a good trainer will be aware of one's physical problems (in my case my arthritic knees) and tailor the workout accordingly, making sure it doesn't exacerbate the problem.
I used to have a trainer before Gail called Cruella (no, really! it was her name!!) who had me leaping on a garden trampoline. We got up to 1200 jumps before my knees totally gave up the ghost and I had to have surgery on them. 3 weeks after surgery she had me back on the trampoline again, undoing all the good the surgery did. She was a dangerous mixture of ignorance and arrogance ("I know better than the doctors"). Gail is very good and knows her stuff. A trainer like that (plus she's a lovely person and we have become good friends) is worth her weight in gold.

Depends what sort of trampoline; a small indoor one or a huge (8ft x 12 ft) garden one, on which there is little else to do (with your clothes on) but jump.

Ah. Another thing to blame Cruella for. Lack of imagination. Oh well. I gave the trampoline to my daughter many years ago, the kids jump on it.

That's basically an indoor one.
Today my trainer nearly killed me with a new exercise on the treadmill. With it switched off completely, she made me walk on it ie I was using my body strength alone to push the band along at a fair speed. The effort and resistance were both enormous and it was so exhausting!!

Wow, who would have thought H.commers workout so much? I thought I did but these guys put me to shame.
My imaginary routine (not that i don't do it, it's just that the days are not really in any particular order and I'm always changing it up):
Sunday: 30 min of interval training on the treadmill, weights (arms + shoulders)
Monday: 5K treadmill and weights (abs, chest, legs)
Tuesday: 20 min cardio (stepper or bike or rower) and weights (back + arms)
Wed: 5K treadmill in 30-35 min (abs, glutes, legs)
Thurs: 40 min cardio and weights (chest)
Fri: repeat as necessary (or make up what was missed)

Imaginary in the sense that it's not really a set routine. Sometimes I'll concentrate on my chest and make up the leg work another day. Sometimes I'll do intervals on the treadmill instead of a run, once in a while I'll skip the weights and run for distance, but you get the idea.

I wouldn't say I'm afraid of group classes, unless by afraid you mean afraid of the added price tag or afraid to tie myself down to someone else's schedule or afraid the class won't be tailored enough to my own goals.

Not specifically you, but I've noticed that most men aren't very interested in group classes. For instance, at Bally's, group classes are free, and most of the classes consist mainly of women. Any man that's actually taken a class will admit that it's a good workout, but many men aren't interested. I think they're afraid of looking stupid.

I don't think that's it. I think it's because guys have different workout goals than women. Meaning many guys will want to use weights/ stregnthening while a lot of women just do cardio stuff.
