There's always some rebbe or another who comes to town-- it's just what they do.
How far would you walk to see the rebbe? Would it depend if there's food (you're up for some kugel sheriyim)?
Would it depend if you'd be getting a bracha or just listening to a shiur or some other reason?

Uh, zero miles. The last rebbe I saw was in the 3rd grade when we had a school assembly for a big rebbe.
