As a child/unmarried girl I would walk half an hour to shul with my father every week. It was a wonderful time for me; we would talk and bond as he would tell me about his youth in pre Hitler Czechoslovakia.

I continued to walk to his shul after I got married (15 mns) until he died . Now I attend a shul only a five mn walk away but I don't consider it exercise so I shlep hubby out for a real walk after each Shabbos meal.
joshman
about 10 minutes ther and 7 minutes back , it's a steep hill
aishel

The two shuls my wife and I prefer are about a mile away from us, although there are closer shuls.
Jeanette
Either 15 minutes or 20 seconds (across the street). When I have an ambulatory baby I try to go to the shul across the street for a short time.
Shemmy
Somewhere between five and ten minutes, depending on where I'm staying that week. After I'm married and am living in the apartment, it will be around five minutes.
accolade
150 feet.

What city did he live in, if you don't mind my asking?

Here's a neat site that will let you find distances from one place to another.
Very useful for walking or biking.
