Do you really put 1/2 stick of butter/ margarine in there?
Red Hare
You can use sour cream instead; it's less fatty, belive it or not.

I like Wacky Mac. . . I used to add sour cream, salsa, and extra cheese. Someday maybe the doctors will tell me my cholesterol is too low and that I need to eat this for medical reasons!

Because it's beyond disgusting to put a half stick of butter in there. I'm not even talking about health reasons.

Back in my Kraft Mac & cheese eating days I used the full half stick. It needs the fat--the cheese powder has been defatted so it won't spoil. You can cut it down a little but not too much or the sauce doesn't have the right consistency or taste.

You might be right. I think though it's more common for someone to have low good cholesterol.
