The first time this ever happened to me. I wanted to burn some photos onto a CD and I wasn't sure if it's a new CD. When I tried to add the photos to the CD, my mac froze. I had to unplug it, and I've tried 3-4 times and when I click on eject, my mac freezes. I never had this with my smooth running mac.

HELP!!! I need that CD out.

I tried pressing the space bar while starting up the mac (as was suggested on macforum.com) and it didn't work.

Thanks
Jeanette
THis happened when I was still under warranty and someone came out and fixed the drive for me.

Get a PC. Sure Vista has its problems but it doesn't kidnap CD's.

Too bad Macs no longer use trays, otherwise the paper clip trick would work.

The slot-loading "nose cone" iMacs still had the capability, you stick a pen into the slot on one side or the other.
