Does anyone know where you can get sefarim rebound in Brooklyn or Manhattan? I went to all the major sefarim stores and they acted like they never heard of such a thing.

There's a guy down the street from me here in Thornhill if you're ever in the area...I take sefarim to him all the time.
Also, for really special stuff, there are professional book binders...I found someone in Southern Ontario on the Internet but I'm sure they exist in NY as well.

I have a friend with relatives in Toronto. Next time she goes to visit, I'll send my sefarim with her. smile.gif

Erm, technically that's what I'm looking for but the website doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. An address would be nice, to start with.

Do you really expect a book rebinder to have a professional website???

Not necessarily professionally made, but professional in the sense that an address and a price range would be helpful. For all I know this guy charges more money to rebind a sefer than it would cost me to buy a new one!

He probably would. Book rebinding is for collectable books. If your books are still in print, it would be cheaper to buy a new copy.

If you still want to talk to a book rebinder, you can contact your local university library and ask them who they use.

Oh. Thanks.

Hold on, what are you talking about? Rebinding as in duct-tape binding, or rebinding as in totally new covers and all?

Maybe she's interested in black tape, like the frummies use.

That's not as complicated as you would think. In theory, I know how to do it.

Actually, I'd like them to reattach the old cover. Perhaps I could do it with crazy glue or something but I get the feeling that it won't hold for long and won't look too good.
