I want to start sponsoring the Lunch at a shiur I go to. It's mostly men and DS tells me that "Men Eat Meat" which is too expensive to always have. I think evrhything has to be cold as there's no way to heat food up ...

I figure we can rotate lunches: tuna salad and egg salad one time, bagels and lox another, pizza another time. Of course I'll bring a variety of sodas, paper goods, and fruit and cake naturally.

Think the men will go for my dairy kugel, tuna roll ups etc.?

Any other suggestions ?

From your previous posts about your lunch shiur, if this is the same one, maybe what they are really in need of is some derech eretz.

I think the KISS theory is the best...
Don't get fancy, most likely either no one will notice, or if they do they'd have preferred something poshut anyway...

I think so.

This is a new shiur, but thanks for remembering, Melech. I don't go to the others anymore.

well, I think tuna, lox and egg in wraps or sandwhiches or whatever would be fine. but not dairy kugel. in my opinion.

Okay, that's fine.

Anyone else? The "lunch" is next wek and more ideas are welcomed !!!

I always think some good salads are welcome also. There's a salad that the rebbetzin at the local Chabad makes alot that has iceberg letture, canned corn, cut up celery, and just the slightest amount of dark meat chicken in it with a mayonaise dressing. It's delicious. Men also seem to love salami, or at least my husband does. Since we don't have that in the house, I think he's pretty happy to get it at stuff like shiurs (unlike Melech's family, mine is not so disciplined outside of the house). Like K Rebbe said, men like simple foods. You might also do well with a big thing of humus, salsa and tortilla chips and munchie foods of the like.
