how long are you away before you want to be home again - your own bed, your own space, your stuff...
i think up to a week for me is ok. after that i get sick of living out of a suitcase or feeling like a guest.

depends where I am. At a nice hotel without kids I could stay indefinitely! at my parents house with my kids and my brother and his kids - one night is too much.

Two nights (or even one) is too long, unless it's for so long that it becomes my temporary home (such as camp).
If it's in Israel, it's more than one or two nights. Maybe because it's home?

Ditto.

I've been to places that made me wish that I never had to go home, and I've been to places where every minute of being there was agony and I wished desperately to be home.

I enjoy being home just as much as I enjoy bouncing around sleeping all over the place.

I can be away from home indefinitely as long as I have my own space, and I am not meshubad to other people's schedules.....

I don't think I've ever been homesick yet.

I think wanting to be home and being homesick are totally different things. Being homesick is more about missing your family while wanting to be home is more about being unhappy or uncomfortable in your accommodations so you just wish you could be home in your own bed, your own familiar environment.

In that case, I always prefer being home but will only be unhappy with my accomodations if they are unsatisfactory in some way - cramped, shared, messy, uncomfortable, etc.
