How do torah true learning institutions justify "heichi kedushash" at minchah during the week? Why don't they skip chazarat ha-sha"tz at shacharit as well? Why not at minchah on shabbat afternoon? How do they have time to recite extra tehillim after shacharit that aren't obligatory if they don't have time for chazarat ha-sha"tz at minchah? Why not lein a triennial cycle in order to save time shabbat morning while they are at it?

I have no idea and when I first saw this happen, I thought I missed the slient shemoneh esray and was so confused at what was happening. (and this was on a y"T)

mincha is usually between bei hasedarim and second seder so people want to get back to their learning, so as not to cause bittul torah they daven a little faster!

So why don't they take the extra 5 mins off of their lunch/nap instead of castrating the tefilah???

This sounds like the same madness that saying karbanos is Bitul Torah and only balebatim (who memaila don't learn anyway) should say them.....

I pick...to be ignorant about the halacha of 'heicha kedusha'. I choose...to continue my never ending quest to fill the entire internet with Maschigseitenspruch about others.

I do find it odd when Ashkenazim do this, in that my exprience has been that Ashkenazim will say qedushah first, then go back and read the amidah silently with no repetition. To me, this is not what the Rambam had in mind, based on expriences with Temanim and the Spanish-Portuguese. In the Tiklal, Siyah Yerushalaim, by Mori Harab Yoseph Qafah, as well as the Tiklal, Torath Aboth (based on the Tiklal, Ets Hayim by Maharits) the instruction is given that according to the Rambam, the entire amida may be recited "beqol ram." In a similar vein, the Spanish-Portuguese custom is for the shaliah tsibbur to read from the opening of the amidah through (and including) qedushah. The congregation then reads silently up through (but not including) retse, at which point the shaliah tsibbur reads through the end of the tefilah.
