If you are non-married female and don't ordinarily wear a hat and one day you decide to wear wear a hat/bandana/scarf, etc. Is it assumed you just got married? Had a bad hair day?
[two comments have arisen so far: 1. did you get married? 2. cute]
eta: third comment: are you practicing?

depends if you tuck all your hair in. i wore hats all the time, but there was always hair sticking out (bun, braid, loose, etc).
headbands are more confusing.

Depends on what kind of hat it is. And, based on the comments you've gotten, apparently it depends on what sort of people you're talking to.

wearing as in "wearing all day long"? i would think got married, if i don't know the person well enough to know she didn't.
before i got married, i wore a hat in winter when it was very cold, with my hair out. it did look like i was wearing a hat fall, and those who knew me found it amusing, and others thought i did get married.

Think of a Fidel Castro-type hat in black- it has a small amount of detailing stitching as adornment.
