Would you date a rabbi or smicha student who was interested in becoming a shul rabbi, if you know (basically under no uncertain terms) you don't want to be a rebbetzin?

I would link a post from a male member who was dating a female rabbinical student, but once again I don't want the "machshiv sin" police to get upset.

Depends what my reasoning for not wanting to be a rebbetzin is.

I would certainly share my reservations about it with the guy and be as upfront as possible. Perhaps he might decide that he wants to be a non-shul rabbi or I decide that I could be a modified-rebbetzin.

No I wouldn't if that were the case, assuming I were dating in a serious and focused way.

Yes, it may technically only be the husband's job, but the wife is part of the package. I would assume that a minimum of being a rebbetzin is greeting people in shul, having people over for meals and being somewhat of a resource. If I didn't see that as a workable option for me, I wouldn't see the point in starting. If he is not set on being a shul rabbi, it would be ok, but I wouldn't go out with him with the proviso that he would need to change his ambition in order for it to work out.

Just like if an shidduch was suggested from a different city and neither party is willing to consider moving, don't bother.
