I read yesterday that ginger, along with the spices that go into curry, are good for joint swelling and pain so I thought I'd try some. I have osteo arthritis in my knees and over the past couple of days my left hip has been a little stiff. I've been slicing ginger along with lime, into my tea and it is a really delicious combination. I'll let you know if it improves things!

I totally misunderstood the subject of this thread.
Before I clicked, I was thinking to myself "Why would anyone want to smoke ginger???"...

Yes. SilentJ kindly acceded to requests to be able to do so. Go back to the opening post and hit <+ edit> <full edit>, and the thread title should come up as well along with the opening post for editing.

Thank you, brilliant.

If you are going to use diet modifications to relieve joint pain, you might want to look into as well what other modifications you could be doing. For example, limiting consumption of white potatoes and nightshade vegetables.

Neither of which I eat much of. What about things like grapefuit and mango both of which I do eat a lot of?

I totally misunderstood the subject of this thread.

And I was thinking that I preferred Mary Ann.

I've had problems with arthritis since my early teens. One thing that accidentally helped me was when I heard there are poskim who allow you to eat non-kosher gelatin... That really helps you restore a lot of the cartilage!!

btw, K-Reb might be up to something since marijuana also helps with arthritis...

I do eat quite a bit of ginger and curry, and it might have helped me too... (My arthritic pain/swelling is a *lot* better than what it was in my teens)

Try curry rice:
I consider it one of the main food groups (along with cheese cake and ice cream...)

I'm unlikely to start taking weed at my stage of life but I might try some mild curry.

OY!!! OY!!! Is that how old you think I am!!???! Bl***y Chutzpah!!! I'm AT LEAST ten years younger than her!!!!! (lyric goes into a major sulk)

I was wondering how long it would take till someone replied to that thread; it's been static since 3rd March. I just want to report that taking chunks of fresh ginger in my tea has definitely helped my arthritis.

Anyhow this Mary Ann has probably been using dope for a while. Does trying a few puffs of that (the name totally escapes me) pipe thing they have in Israel, you know...you put some kind of tobacco and water and it bubbles and you puff on the end of a long pipe..... does that count as dope? I must admit I felt VERY relaxed after a few puffs!.....

Chas v'shalom I would think that. It's just that you suggested at your stage of life you wouldn't be engaging in that activity, so I found someone much older than you who does so.
