Completely disregarding hashkafah, which type/style of kippah/yarmulka do you think is most attractive?

black velvet/suede

On blond hair I like a dark colored yarmulke, regardless of material. On dark hair I prefer lighter colored yarmulkes, which would imply sruga, because velvet and suede yarmulkes are all dark colored.

probably suede, but the truth is, i don't dislike any types. oh, wait - i don't like those big knitted white kippahs - yerushalmi?

That's for children. I thought we were talking about grown-ups here. I don't usually associate the word "attractive" with children.

Those large, "Yemenite" kippoth with the coloured banding around the edge.

My favorite are the ones that have the guy's hebrew name spelled on it. Very functional, though if I were doing it, I'd add sew my phone number instead.

I'm torn between the black velvet (classy), the black suede (also classy) and the fun(ky) crocheted ones.



I saw a guy at a party who had one of those. I commented to my friend (because he was cute). Turns out the kippa wasn't his (borrowed from friend), the name wasn't his name (friend's name), and he didn't even realize that those squiggles were anything more than an interesting design!

I don't find it hideous but that may have to do with the fact that I know a man that wears that exact yarmulke (known him for years and never seen any other type on his head) and he is one of the nicest people to land on this planet.
